We are renewing our communications and outreach strategy for Veterans, currently-serving members of the Canadians Armed Forces (CAF) and their families. With this renewal, VAC’s overall objective is to ensure Veterans understand the range of well-being benefits and services that are available to them, and how to access those supports.
As part of this communications and outreach renewal, VAC wished to consult with former CAF members and their families who do not currently receive support from the department. VAC wanted to learn why they are not approaching VAC for assistance, or conversely, why VAC is not reaching these Veterans and their families who may be in need of our benefits and services.
The consultation set out to explore the following factors:
Do former CAF members know about the programs VAC offers?
Do they need/want VAC support?
Do they feel there would be a benefit to coming to VAC for support?
How would they like VAC to communicate and reach out to them in their post-military lives?
